Let's Ask MAX...

Is it OK to wash my Down Comforter?
MAX: Not only is it ok but it's easy, costs less and you'll be surprised at how great your comforter will turn out when done right!

What do you mean?
MAX: Dry-cleaning is expensive and may leave a chemical residue and odor. Top loaders are just not big enough to properly wash your comforter. Use a large (typically 50 or 80 .lb) front loader loosely filled to 3/4 full with an appropriate amount of soap. Then dry in a large enough dryer to allow room for air to circulate around and through the comforter. Place (2 or 3) clean or new tennis balls into the dryer along with the comforter. Turn the exposed side around several times during the drying period to avoid only one side drying. Be sure to thoroughly dry the comforter. Then let it air dry for an additional 24 hours before folding and putting away. For BEST results use static cling dryer sheets instead of liquid fabric softener. Your comforter will turn out nicer then you ever thought possible. And for far less money then dry-cleaning!
